About this indicator

Release
An estimate is released after about 1.5 months and a preliminary figure after about 2 months. (10:00 GMT)
What it is
It is the end product of goods and services generated by residents of a country, in this case in all countries belonging to the Eurozone. It is an indicator of the dynamism of the economy. The Directorate for Economic and Financial Affairs of the European Commission prepares a forecast of GDP growth in the area for the next two quarters.
How it's calculated
It is calculated as the sum of consumption, investment, government spending and trade balance (the latter is the difference between exports and imports).
Market implications
It is an indicator that reflects the level of dynamism of the economy.
Limitations
The data are subject to revision, with three published data concerning the same period. Furthermore known very late (the estimated three months after the end of the period studied, the preliminary to the final four and five), so it should be interpreted with caution.
