What it is
It is a measure of the activity level of the economy, and often anticipate increases in wages and salaries if the unemployment rate decreases and vice versa.
How it's calculated
It is calculated as the percentage of people considered Stops on the total active population (unemployed and employees). unemployed consider those over 15, who are unemployed, they have been actively looking for him in the last four weeks and are available to do so in the next two weeks.
Market implications
It is a cyclical indicator, so that when growth phase, entrepreneurs try first to increase overtime, and when they see that this will continue in time, then increase the number of employees.
Limitations
It is based on surveys and is therefore subject to the veracity of the same, as there may be distortions in the responses. The information obtained is not comparable to that of the US or Japan. The data are subject to numerous revisions.
