Release
Two months after the period it refers to.
What it is
Gross Domestic Product (GDP) is one of the main economic aggregates content from National Accounts (CNE) and represents, overall, the final result of productive activity, ie goods and services produced in an economy, in this case Spanish.
How it's calculated
Depending on the view that compute the variables used will be different, but the result must be the same. On the demand side, the supply side and in terms of income.
Market implications
It provides regular information on how it evolves the global productive activity of the nation. This information is used by policymakers (the ECB) as a guideline when planning and implementing economic policy of the country or area (euro zone) data. In addition, the estimate of GDP the European Statistics Office (Eurostat) makes a first estimate of GDP growth in the EU and the Economic and Monetary Union. Obtaining this advance estimate is part of the policy of Eurostat and the European Central Bank offering data on time and quality with those produced in the United States.
Limitations
Data on gross domestic product are published approximately two months after the end of the period to which they relate. In addition, with the publication of information relating to the corresponding quarter the previous quarter is revised, so that the first publication can not be considered definitive.
