What it is	Tracks the evolution of wages in Ukraine, that is the gross pay received by employees. It is a key reference for household income and cost-push inflation, published by the Ukrainian statistical authorities.
How it's calculated	Compiled from administrative records and business surveys and usually expressed as the average nominal wage (in hryvnia) and as a year-on-year (YoY) change, on a monthly basis.
Market implications	Wages are both the main component of household income and a large share of firms' costs, so their evolution shapes consumption and the price pressures watched by the National Bank of Ukraine (NBU), in a context marked by war and elevated inflation.
Limitations	The nominal wage in hryvnia does not strip out inflation, so the real wage is worth watching too. Coverage and comparability are affected by the war, and the data are subject to revision.
