What it is
It provides information on stock levels at month end that are inventoried by Retail Stores, wholesalers and manufacturers. In turn, the inventory / sales ratio, which represents the time it would take to output inventories at the current sales pace is offered.
How it's calculated
The calculation is made based on the data from three surveys; the monthly survey of retail sales, the monthly survey of wholesale and survey inventory, transportation and manufacturing industries orders.
Market implications
The data provided can be used for analysis of the evolution of production and to measure productivity. It also serves as an indicator of the economic situation and consumption trends.

The data are preliminary and subject to revision, caution should be exercised when interpreting them.
