Qué es
El Producto Interior Bruto (PIB) mide el valor de todos los bienes y servicios producidos en Dinamarca durante un periodo y es el indicador más amplio del tamaño y del ritmo de crecimiento de la economía danesa. Lo elabora y publica Statistics Denmark (Danmarks Statistik).
Cálculo
Se estima por las vías de la demanda, la oferta y las rentas, que deben coincidir. Statistics Denmark publica una serie trimestral desestacionalizada con la variación intertrimestral (QoQ) e interanual (YoY) en volumen encadenado.
Implicaciones
Es la referencia clave para juzgar el ciclo de la economía danesa. Como Dinamarca ancla la corona (DKK) al euro mediante el ERM II, el crecimiento condiciona las expectativas más que la política de tipos, que sigue de cerca a la del BCE. Un dato fuerte refuerza la confianza en los activos daneses.
Debilidades
Se publica con varias semanas de retraso y el avance se revisa en publicaciones posteriores, por lo que el primer dato no es definitivo. Al ser una economía pequeña y muy abierta, un puñado de grandes empresas (farmacéutica, transporte marítimo) puede distorsionar el trimestre.
